On Jan. 5 (local time), Samsung Electronics held the 'Samsung First Look 2025' event to showcase Samsung 'Vision AI' a day before the opening of the world’s largest IT and home appliances exhibition, 'CES 2025,' in Las Vegas, United States.
Samsung Electronics equipped Vision AI with features such as 'Click to Search,' which allows users to find and be informed of desired information with a single click during content viewing; 'Real-time Translation,' which provides subtitles for foreign content in Korean in real time; and a 'Generative Wallpaper' function that creates images reflecting user preferences.
Additionally, it offers features for user convenience, such as 'Home Insights,' which analyzes patterns of user behavior, device usage history, and the state of the household to provide real-time information and timely necessary functions, as well as 'Family and Pet Care' to monitor the condition of family members or pets.
Samsung Electronics also unveiled its personalized AI, 'Vision AI Companion,' for the first time. The Vision AI Companion responds instantly to users' interests and inquiries. For instance, if a user requests 'travel destination suggestions,' it provides a personalized experience leading to recommendations for restaurants, itinerary, and artworks.
Samsung Electronics plans to provide AI services through open partnerships with various global AI corporations, including Microsoft and Google. Through its collaboration with Microsoft, it aims to equip the Smart Monitor (M9) with the 'Copilot' service, which will search for information related to the content being viewed and provide content recommendations. It intends to introduce various AI services, including Copilot, into TV products in the future.
Samsung Electronics also unveiled the 2025 model 'Neo QLED 8K' powered by the 'NQ8 AI 3rd generation' AI processor. The new product applies AI technology to upgrade low-resolution content to 8K quality with '8K AI Upscaling Pro' and to richly express color and depth with 'Auto HDR Remastering Pro' technology.
Samsung Electronics will support immersive 3D audio technology 'Eclipse Audio,' co-developed with Google, from the 2025 Crystal UHD models to Neo QLED 8K.
Samsung Electronics plans to demonstrate the video of Aespa's 'Whiplash' using Samsung's Neo QLED 8K TV and HW-Q990F soundbar, which support Eclipse Audio, in collaboration with SM Entertainment at the Samsung First Look event.
