On the 2nd, POSCO DX announced that Shin Min-seok, the former head of POSCO's Digital Innovation Unit, was inaugurated as the new president.

According to POSCO DX, President Shin began his official duties that day. Considering it was during the national mourning period, no separate inauguration ceremony was held.

In his inaugural address, President Shin noted, "As the execution entity of the POSCO Group DX, I will focus on enhancing core competitiveness through 'smart factories.'" He further explained that the 'smart factory,' which combines IT, OT, along with AI and robotics, aims not only at the automation and intelligence limited to manufacturing sites but also at transforming the entire working process.

President Shin has been responsible for detailed planning and execution of the POSCO Group’s digital innovation strategy, starting from the Technology Division of POSCO EIC in 1992 and serving as the head of the Digital Innovation Unit, among other roles. At POSCO DX, where he took office as president this year, he pushed for the advancement of engineering technologies at industrial sites like steel mills as the head of the Pohang EIC office for two years starting in 2021.

Along with his inauguration, President Shin immediately visited sites in the metropolitan area, including Pangyo. He is scheduled to visit establishments in Pohang and Gwangyang early in the year to hold discussions with employees.
