Kim Taek-jin and Park Byeong-mu, co-CEOs of NCSoft, emphasized that in the new year, employees must equip themselves with a venture spirit to create a turning point for growth.
In a New Year's address on the 2nd, the two co-CEOs said, "To grow again, NC must return to the venture spirit that it had when it first started," adding, "All members must engage in collaboration with a resolve as if they are cutting their bones, and this year must be a year to restore customer trust and achieve the company's rebound."
The two co-CEOs mentioned that they laid the foundation for survival and growth through painful choices such as voluntary retirement, divisions, and restructuring at headquarters last year. They explained that they prepared for a leap into the global market through headquarters efficiency, strengthening the independence of individual studios, reshaping overseas corporations, enhancing IP (intellectual property) competitiveness, and investing in domestic and international studios. However, they expressed a sense of crisis, stating that if the company does not show a turning point for growth in 2025, all efforts from last year will be in vain.
This year, the management keywords are "one team," "collaboration," and "re-equipping with a venture spirit." The two co-CEOs emphasized, "We must discard selfishness and discord between departments and unite as one team," adding, "Both existing live games and new games must strengthen communication with the market and users to regain customer trust." They continued by stating, "We must abandon the complacent expectation that time will solve all difficulties, and it requires the dedicated effort of all members."
Additionally, the two co-CEOs noted, "This year is a crucial year to achieve a turnaround to profitability and create a turning point for growth," stating that "If we fail the turnaround, there will be no future," and urged, "Let's all unite and do our best."
