Gravity has announced that it has obtained a game license for the mobile 3D massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) 'Ragnarok: Reverse' in China.
On the 24th, the National Press and Publication Administration of China released the list of approved foreign game licenses on its official website, which includes 'Ragnarok: Reverse.' This marks the third Ragnarok intellectual property (IP) license this year, following 'Ragnarok Online' in February and 'Ragnarok: Dawn' in June.
This game features a storyline focused on protecting the Kingdom of Rune-Midgard from the Baphomet cult and utilizes an adventure game direction. To enhance user convenience, it supports both portrait and landscape orientations, allowing players to enjoy the game in their preferred way. It offers rapid character growth through idle content, a high degree of freedom in transactions, equipment development, and a pet system.
'Ragnarok: Reverse' previously achieved the top spot among free popular games in the Apple App Store in Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia after its release in Southeast Asia in June, and ranked second among free popular games in the Google Play Store in Thailand.
In October, the game reached the number one spot among free popular games in the Apple App Store across Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau following its pre-download opening. It also recorded second place among free popular games in Hong Kong and Macau on Google Play and third in Taiwan. After its official release, it achieved second place in revenue on the Apple App Store and fifth place on Google Play in Macau, marking a successful early performance.
Kim Jin-hwan, the general manager of Gravity, noted, "We plan to do our best to prepare to provide a satisfying gaming experience to users in China and to continue the successful performance achieved in previous regions with 'Ragnarok: Reverse.'"
