SK Telecom said it will launch a children’s customized LTE (4th generation mobile communication) smartphone "ZEM Phone Pokémon Edition 3" on the 27th.
The newly introduced "ZEM Phone Pokémon Edition 3" has captured the hearts of both parents and child customers with its safe usage environment, assistance in forming proper smartphone usage habits, and an attractive package that includes Pokémon merchandise. The release price is 326,700 won, boasting a 5.8-inch display that fits perfectly in a child’s hand and a lightweight of 167g.
"ZEM Phone Pokémon Edition 3" has completed a blue light test to help protect vision and allows blocking of incoming calls and spam messages from numbers not stored in the contacts, preventing indiscriminate advertising calls.
"ZEM Phone Pokémon Edition 3" comes with the ZEM app, which provides reassurance features that help nurture a child’s proper smartphone habits and alleviate parents' worries about their child's safety. In addition to managing smartphone and app usage time, parents can easily check their child's real-time location, block harmful content, and prevent smartphone use while walking, thus supporting a safe smartphone environment with related reports provided in real time.
In particular, the SOS feature, triggered by pressing the side button for more than five seconds, sends location information to guardians and requests help, allowing younger children to live in a safer environment.
"ZEM Phone Pokémon Edition 3" supports a high-resolution dual camera (64 million + 5 million pixels), 6GB (gigabytes) of RAM, 128GB of storage space, and an IP68 water and dust resistance feature, making it more than adequate for children. Additionally, it supports a drawing app called "My Brush," enabling children to express their imagination freely.
The package includes a two-tier Pokémon drawer, a mini bag, a phone strap, a luminous smart talk, stickers, and a photo card holder, providing a wealth of items that children would enjoy, while also enhancing the fun of storing and decorating precious belongings through the Pokémon drawer.
Yu Cheol-jun, Deputy Minister of SK Telecom’s Smart Device Division, noted, "We made the kids' phone more approachable by applying beloved Pokémon characters, so that children can use it with confidence. We will continue to introduce smartphones that reflect the diverse needs of parent and child customers."
