Naver announced on the 27th that it held an event utilizing vertical louvers attached to the windows of the Naver 1784 building on the evening of the 26th, the release date of Netflix's "Squid Game" Season 2.
Naver adjusted the vertical louvers to block sunlight, creating the letters "Nenet," which symbolize the Naver Plus membership and its partnership with Netflix, at the front of the 1784 building. The event took place at the 1784 building facing the Gyeongbu Expressway from 7 p.m. for about two hours.
Additionally, the presence of the iconic characters known as Pink Guards from "Squid Game," dressed in masks and pink suits, looking out from inside the building also attracted users' attention. Naver noted, "We held this event to commemorate the release of Netflix's 'Squid Game' Season 2, hoping to spark interest in the Naver Plus membership among the public."
Since the 26th of last month, Naver has been providing Netflix subscriptions as part of its partnership with Netflix, making it the first membership service among domestic information technology (IT) platforms to do so. Membership users can select the "Netflix Standard with Ads Plan" as a digital content benefit for a subscription fee of 4,900 won per month (3,900 won for an annual plan).
