SK Communications noted on the 26th that 47% of respondents from a recent survey conducted by the current affairs service 'NateQ' of 5,683 people cited 'financial stability' as their top wish for the New Year.
Thirty-two percent of users responded that their New Year wish was 'the health of themselves and those around them,' followed by 'peace on the Korean Peninsula and around the world' (8%) and 'success in employment and job transitions' (5%).
By age group, more than half (50%) of respondents in their 40s, who are actively participating in the workforce and have significant family responsibilities, selected 'financial stability' as their wish, representing the highest proportion. In contrast, respondents aged 60 and older chose 'health' as their top wish for the New Year, highlighting distinct interests across generations. Notably, respondents in their 20s emphasized both 'financial stability' (33%) and 'health' (27%), showing a pronounced tendency to pursue a balanced life rather than just simple economic goals.
Regarding the results of this survey, An Ji-seon, Head of Team at SK Communications' media service, said, 'The fact that 'financial stability' was chosen most frequently as a New Year wish shows that the current economic difficulties and uncertainties are deeply affecting the public.' She added, 'I hope that by 2025, these wishes will come true, allowing individuals and society to welcome a hopeful new year.'
