Kakao Entertainment held its year-end awards ceremony, 'Entop Awards 2024,' selecting and sharing the best IP and technology innovations of the year with employees on the 24th.
Kakao Entertainment hosted the Entop Awards on the 20th at its Jonggak office in Seoul, with participation from all employees. This event celebrated the best examples among Kakao Entertainment's diverse IP and projects in music, storytelling, and media, and was designed to enhance internal communication.
In the 'Best IP' category, the storytelling IP 'Best of Tomorrow: Jumping with Sunjae,' the music IP aespa's 'Supernova,' and the media IP web entertainment 'Excuse Me' were selected. 'Best of Tomorrow: Jumping with Sunjae' proved its IP power with view counts increasing by 18 times for the web novel and 20 times for the webtoon after the drama aired. aespa's 'Supernova' was recognized as a representative hit music IP, recording 15 consecutive weeks at number one on the Melon weekly chart in collaboration with SM Entertainment. The web entertainment 'Excuse Me' gained significant popularity with 200 million views across 44 pieces of content.
In the 'Best Impact' category, the 'Music IP Strategic Marketing Project' from the music content sector and Kakao Entertainment's artificial intelligence (AI) brand 'Helix' were selected. The 'Music IP Strategic Marketing Project' gained attention for its data-driven K-pop marketing, while Helix contributed to platform growth through technologies such as 'Helix Shorts,' which produce webtoons and web novels into short videos.
Along with the awards ceremony, Kakao Entertainment produced and donated massage sticks worth 7.5 million won to the Seongnam Comprehensive Support Center for Elderly People Living Alone, and donated 7.5 million won to the Seongnam Children's Group Home Association as part of its social contribution activities.
Kwak Ki-soo and Jang Yoon-jung, co-CEOs of Kakao Entertainment, noted, 'Through the crew's efforts and new communication opportunities, we were able to establish a foundation for stability and growth for the company,' adding, 'We will continue to strive to present good content that will be loved for a long time next year.'
