The Korea Creative Content Agency announced on the 23rd that it held the 'NCA Project Showcase' to present the achievements of the graduates of the New Content Academy (NCA) short-term course at the Hongneung Content Talent Campus and Content Culture Square in Seoul on the 18th and 19th.
Launched last year, the NCA is a project that trains talent with technology convergence skills needed in the rapidly changing content industry. It offers a long-term course that runs for two years as well as a project-based short-term course lasting six months. So far, over 250 trainees have participated.
At this showcase, 152 trainees from the second short-term course revealed a total of 26 works including artificial intelligence (AI) short films, animations, virtual reality (VR) games, and immersive exhibitions, created in collaboration with dedicated facilitators for each project.
This year's project exhibition and screening attracted over 800 visitors, marking a successful event. In particular, 54 experts from content corporations such as ▲Netmarble ▲Lotte World ▲SM Entertainment ▲Gentle Monster ▲Silo Lab participated as judges, experiencing the content created by the trainees and providing practical feedback.
The performance of eight corporations was also presented. YHC Group, which won the design concept category at this year's Red Dot Design Award for the media art 'The Operator,' discussed the intellectual property (IP) utilization and development strategy for the 'The Operator' series. The piece 'Let the Shell Go' introduced the case of merging the content IP virtual idol Naevis with media art.
The team ADD, associated with the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) in a designated corporate-linked course, shared the results of generative AI video used in KBS2's new educational entertainment program 'The Secret of Celebrity Soldiers.'
Yoo Hyun-seok, acting head of the Korea Creative Content Agency, noted that "the innovation of the content industry is not just about introducing new technologies, but fostering creative and capable talent who can apply them in real industrial settings." He added, "We will support NCA trainees to maximize their potential in the global market and achieve success on the world stage."
