Among IPTV providers, LG Uplus has emerged as a leader in user satisfaction and content satisfaction at various service stages.
According to the Ministry of Science and ICT's evaluation results for paid broadcasting service quality this year, LG Uplus scored 67.7 points in user satisfaction at various service stages, while SK Broadband scored 67.5 points and KT scored 65.3 points. The average for IPTV was 66.8 points.
The average score for multiple system operators (MSOs) including LG HelloVision, SK Broadband, D live, HCN, and CMB was 63.7 points. Small and medium-sized cable broadcasting companies (SOs) such as Arirang Broadcasting, Nam Incheon Broadcasting, Chungbuk Broadcasting, Gwangju Broadcasting, Geumgang Broadcasting, Pureun Broadcasting, Ulsan Broadcasting, Seogyeong Broadcasting, and Jeju Broadcasting recorded an average of 65.7 points.
The overall user satisfaction score for paid broadcasting service providers improved to an average of 65.2 points, up from last year's average of 63.7 points. By service stage, satisfaction was higher during installation (70.4 points) and after-service (68.9 points), while satisfaction during use (61.2 points) was relatively low. The score for cancellation (63.8 points) increased compared to last year (56.4 points).
SK Broadband ranked first in the video experience quality sector with a score of 4.8 points, followed by KT (4.7 points) and LG Uplus (4.6 points). In terms of user satisfaction with artificial intelligence (AI) voice recognition set-top boxes, SK Broadband also led with a score of 62.5 points.
In terms of user satisfaction based on content provision, LG Uplus scored 62.2 points, SK Broadband scored 61.5 points, and KT scored 59.7 points, resulting in an average of 61.1 points for IPTV. The quality evaluation of paid broadcasting services has been conducted annually since 2018, covering all 18 paid broadcasting service providers.
