Chabot Mobility announced on the 23rd that it had released data on popular vehicles and key trends in the imported and domestic car markets, based on approximately 320,000 user cases of its 'car purchase service' throughout 2024.

In the imported car institutional sector, BMW accounted for 54.2% of all applications and showed strong performance throughout the year. In particular, the BMW 5 Series recorded the highest popularity among all models at 38.8%, followed by the ▲3 Series (15.3%) and ▲X3 (7.1%). Mercedes-Benz's E-Class led the sedan market alongside BMW, capturing 57.5% of total applications. In the electric vehicle sector, models such as the Audi Q4 e-tron (29%), BMW i5, and Mercedes-Benz EQB attracted attention.

In the domestic car market, Kia held the top position with a 35.9% market share, followed by Hyundai (28.5%) and Genesis (27.4%), together dominating over 90% of the market. In terms of models, the Genesis GV70 recorded the highest preference at 36%, followed by the Kia The New Sorento Hybrid (30%) and Hyundai The New Avante (17.7%). In particular, hybrid and SUV vehicles became very popular among consumers who value practicality and eco-friendliness.

A similar trend was observed in the lease and rental market. The Kia The New Sorento Hybrid was selected as the most popular vehicle, accounting for 10.8% of total applications in the lease and rental institutional sector. Following that were ▲Hyundai The New Avante (8.8%), ▲BMW 3 Series (8.2%), and ▲Kia The All-New Sportage Hybrid (7.2%), which were favored by consumers.

A Chabot Mobility official noted, "The automotive market in 2024 is expected to be led by consumer preferences for domestic and imported cars, particularly in hybrid, SUV, and electric vehicles, establishing these as key trends," adding, "Chabot will continue to provide vehicle purchase solutions that reflect consumer needs based on data, contributing to improved customer satisfaction."
