Recently completing its rebranding, SOOP announced on the 23rd that the number of streamers who started broadcasting on its platform this year reached 53,000, a 35% increase compared to last year.

SOOP changed its name and service from the former AfreecaTV to its current name this year, introduced a new user interface (UI), and revamped the entire platform. To support the stable settlement of streamers starting anew or transitioning from other platforms, SOOP presented various support programs and new content. Consequently, the total number of broadcasts opened on SOOP this year reached 6.75 million.

The day with the highest number of concurrent viewers on the SOOP platform this year was October 27, during the semifinals of the 2024 League of Legends (LoL) World Championship, featuring a match between T1 and Gen.G. On that day, the total number of concurrent users was recorded at 540,000.

The growth of virtual streamers was also noteworthy. According to SOOP, the 'Virtual' category grew fivefold compared to last year based on cumulative broadcasts. The total number of chat messages reached 4.5 billion, while the content generated for the short-form video 'Catch' totaled 1.95 billion.

SOOP's self-produced VALORANT esports tournament 'SVL 2024' gained significant popularity in the global version of SOOP, launched this year. SVL 2024 recorded a cumulative viewership of 2.6 million over six days, with more than 1.9 million of those being international viewers.

SOOP stated that it plans to support features such as global simultaneous broadcasting, integrated streaming, subtitle generation, and global chat management to assist domestic streamers with multilingual broadcasting next year.
