LG Uplus announced on the 22nd that it has signed a business agreement with Global Standard Technology (GST) for the development of a liquid cooling solution for artificial intelligence data centers (AIDC).
Liquid cooling is a technology that uses a cooling device that employs liquid to cool servers installed in the data center's computer room and on the floor.
The two companies plan to accelerate the AIDC business by adding GST's cooling technology to LG Uplus's capabilities in energy efficiency and stability management of its Internet Data Center (IDC).
First, they will begin verifying immersion cooling technology at LG Uplus's hyperscale data center 'Pyeongchon 2 Center.' After confirming the stability of the technology and operational efficiency, they plan to consider applying the immersion cooling solution to the data centers owned by LG Uplus.
They will also collaborate to develop a customized operation and management system optimized for the characteristics and requirements of servers for business-to-business (B2B) corporations.
