On the 19th, LG Uplus announced that it received an award for outstanding institutions from the Personal Information Protection Commission for the launch of the voice phishing detection feature in its mobile AI agent "ixi-O."
This award recognized LG Uplus's proactive technological response to prevent telecommunications financial fraud such as voice phishing and its development of an AI-based spam message detection and blocking system, contributing to customer protection.
This year, LG Uplus has been contributing to effective prevention of damage by building a comprehensive response system that collects, analyzes, and blocks voice phishing and smishing data, collaborating with various related organizations.
In particular, in collaboration with the Personal Information Protection Commission, National Forensic Service, Financial Supervisory Service, and Korea Internet & Security Agency, LG Uplus utilized data processed for the de-identification of personal information for AI learning and enhanced detection accuracy through real voice phishing report information from the Seoul Police Agency and malicious app URL information from the Financial Security Agency.
The mobile AI agent "ixi-O," launched in November, is equipped with a real-time voice phishing detection feature during customer currency. It effectively protects customer safety by detecting voice phishing in real time and providing warning notifications.
Additionally, LG Uplus introduced an AI-based filtering model that improved spam message filtering accuracy to over 95% compared to before, playing a significant role in preventing smishing damage.
Hong Kwan-hee, head of the Cybersecurity Center (CISO/CPO) at LG Uplus, noted, "I am pleased to have our efforts in continuously strengthening voice phishing prevention technologies and services recognized in order to protect our customers' valuable assets. We will continue to provide more sophisticated and reliable security services based on AI technology, creating an environment where customers can use our services with peace of mind."
