KT announced on the 17th that it will launch a "spam suspicion message notification service" that assesses the spam risk level of messages received by customers and displays a warning message.

Users do not need to separately subscribe to the service, which will be automatically applied for free to Samsung Electronics devices starting today, displaying the spam suspicion status for SMS (short message service) received by customers. The application is scheduled to expand to MMS (multimedia messaging service) starting in 2025.

In addition, KT will enhance its existing free add-on service, the "KT Spam Blocking Service," to prevent increasingly sophisticated smishing crime. It is expected to apply the feature that not only blocks malicious smishing URLs but also tracks the final IP of the URLs by January next year. This will fundamentally prevent acts of manipulation that involved constantly changing URLs to evade spam blocking services.
