According to the Korea Creative Content Agency's "2024 Comic and Webtoon User Survey" report released on the 15th, the survey of 3,448 webtoon users revealed that "Return of the Blossoming Blade" ranked first among preferred webtoons. The webtoon "Appearance Justice," which had ranked first for three consecutive years since 2021 in the same survey, fell to second place. Following behind were "Newlywed Diary," "Solo Leveling," "Manager Kim," "Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint," and "Tower of God."
"Return of the Blossoming Blade" is a martial arts webtoon that tells the story of Cheongmyeong, a master of the Hwasan clan, who is resurrected 100 years after his death to rebuild his fallen sect. The original web novel recorded a cumulative download count of 700 million on Naver Series, and the webtoon's season 2 achieved 400 million won in sales just one day after its release last June.
"Appearance Justice" is a webtoon depicting the events that occur when Park Hyungseok, a high school student who was bullied for being ugly and poor, acquires a new body with handsome features. It is the representative work of author Park Taejun, who leads the production company Park Taejun Cartoon Co., and has been serialized since November 2014, currently continuing for 10 years. The cumulative views have surpassed 10 billion.
