A graduate of Yonsei University's business administration program, Jeong received an MBA from Washington State University in the U.S. He served as an executive at Microsoft in 2006, the head of the operation division at Showbox in 2017, and has worked as the vice president of Merry Christmas since 2018. Merry Christmas is a company that produces, invests in, and distributes video content such as dramas and web content, focusing on films, and has produced works like Victory and Love Revolution.
KT Studio Genie broadcast 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' in 2022 through the ENA channel and the online video service (OTT) Netflix, and the final episode of Woo Young-woo attracted attention by achieving a viewership rating of 17.5%, ranking first among paid broadcasting channels during the same period.
KT Studio Genie is an intermediate holding company that has subsidiaries including the music streaming platform Genie Music, the e-book platform Millie's Library, and the intellectual property (IP) platform Storywiz, all part of the KT Group media content companies. Recently, due to worsening content market conditions, KT's content subsidiaries recorded an 18.3% decrease in revenue in the third quarter compared to the third quarter of last year, marking two consecutive quarters of revenue decline.
