SK Broadband announced on the 11th that it will provide next-generation dedicated line services to Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power Corporation.
Since October, SK Broadband has been working on building a nationwide dedicated line network for corporations using the next-generation transmission technology known as IP-MPLS (Internet Protocol-Multi Protocol Label Switching) to efficiently manage increasing network traffic due to various application usages, with Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power Corporation being the first case of service provision.
IP-MPLS ensures fast and secure communication while offering scalability by integrating various network protocols. Additionally, the establishment of a nationwide network enables multi-path backup, significantly enhancing the service reliability that corporations prioritize.
SK Broadband also emphasized that, by leveraging Nokia's security encryption technology, it has greatly enhanced the security of data transmission, equipping itself with data safety and responsiveness against high-risk cyberattacks such as hacking from quantum computers.
Kim Gu-young, the Enterprise Sales CP manager at SK Broadband, said, “With the recently initiated construction of the next-generation dedicated line nationwide network, the security and stability of public corporations managing critical national resources have been greatly strengthened,” and added, “With this advanced technology, we will proactively respond to the rapidly changing cybersecurity environment to actively assist corporations in growing in a safe environment.”
