Several fishermen went missing after two fishing boats were hit by a drone attack off the coast of Hormozgan Province in southern Iran.
According to Iran's state-run IRIB on the 14th local time, the deputy governor for political, security and social affairs in Hormozgan Province said, "On Monday evening, two fishing boats near Kangan Port in the Persian Gulf were subjected to a criminal enemy drone attack."
The entity Iran's authorities typically describe as a "criminal enemy" refers to the United States or Israel.
The deputy governor said, "As a result of the attack, several fishermen aboard the vessels went missing," adding, "Search and rescue operations to find them have begun." He added, "Details of the incident and whether the fishermen are alive will be announced once the relevant authorities complete their investigation and file an official report."
