Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it will include parts of the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea in a maritime control zone to be established around the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the semi-official Fars news agency on the 9th (local time), Hossein Mohebi, Spokesperson for the Revolutionary Guard, said the newly designated maritime control zone will start in waters near Chabahar, a key port city in southeastern Iran, and include parts of the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea.
Mohebi, the Spokesperson, added that the exact maritime coordinates that will directly restrict ship navigation will be announced later.
He warned that all ships passing through the control zone will face the immediate suspension of services essential to maritime operations, including shipping, insurance, and various port support.
The Spokesperson added, "A ship that violates the rules and passes through the control zone even once will face severe penalties, including a permanent block on access to all related maritime and insurance services when passing through the Strait of Hormuz again in the future."
Mohebi, the Spokesperson, also set out conditions to end the current state of tension: ◇ the complete halt of the war ◇ a ban on additional threats ◇ the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon ◇ the lifting of the blockade on Yemen ◇ the release of $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets ◇ the cessation of interference in Iran's nuclear and missile programs.
