Prime Air, the cargo plane of Amazon, the largest U.S. e-commerce company, veered off the runway during landing on the 6th local time and collided with vehicles in succession.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said on X that at about 2 p.m. that day, a cargo plane landing at Miami International Airport in Florida overran the end of the runway at high speed, and that it is investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
The aircraft was identified as a Boeing 767-300 freighter that departed from Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory.
AP and AFP, citing video of the scene posted on social media (SNS), reported that the freighter left the runway and then struck two trucks.
Flames shot up from the airframe immediately after the collision, and thick black smoke blanketed the area around the scene. All runways at Miami International Airport were closed.
It is not yet known whether there were any casualties.
