U.S. President Donald Trump said on the 2nd that the recently resumed attacks on Iran "won't last too long."
At the White House that day, Trump answered this way when reporters asked, "How long will the renewed strikes on Iran last?"
Trump said, "I don't know how much longer they can endure. But it doesn't matter how long that is."
Trump said, "They were trying to rebuild radar systems, missile systems, and mine-drop systems," adding, "They were trying to build rockets that drop mines."
He added, "Because (the mine-drop rocket) was almost finished, we eliminated it," stressing, "Last night's strike was very powerful, and we are prepared to launch another strike any time we want."
Earlier, the U.S. military struck Iran on the 30th of last month for the first time in about a month, then hit Iran again on the 1st. Iran also attempted retaliatory attacks on U.S. forces.
Regarding his post the previous day on his social media Truth Social asking, "When will the people of Iran rise up," Trump was asked whether he would deploy the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to arm them and answered, "I'd like to tell you, but it's not appropriate to say."
Even so, he said, "That regime is getting weaker by the day," and added, "I think the people will no longer tolerate it. I asked that question because now is the time."
On the day the war began, Trump had urged a popular uprising, saying, "When we finish (the attack), take over your government," and, "This will probably be your only chance for generations."
