Nine out of 10 nationals who had been stranded in Nepal by flooding have moved to a safe area.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 27th, Nepalese authorities used a military helicopter that day to transfer 9 of the 10 South Koreans who were stranded and awaiting rescue to a safe area.
The remaining one person, the site manager of Doosan Enerbility, stayed on site, and two embassy staff, including a consul and an administrative employee from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal, also remained.
These 10 people affiliated with Doosan Enerbility had been staying at a temporary shelter along with hundreds of other foreigners and locals.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs earlier said their health condition was good and that they were receiving drinking water, food, and medical supplies.
Meanwhile, the whereabouts of nine South Koreans who lost contact have not yet been confirmed despite search and rescue operations by Nepalese authorities.
Minister Cho Hyun of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spoke by phone with Nepalese Foreign Minister Sishir Khanal in the afternoon and asked the Nepalese government to pay special attention and provide support for the swift and safe search and rescue of our nationals.
