Nvidia, regarded as the global "leader" in artificial intelligence (AI), is forming a security alliance.
Nvidia said on the 27th that it will launch the Open Secure AI Alliance with the world's major big tech companies, cyber security corporations, and research institutions to strengthen AI safety and cyber security.
As new security threats grow with the spread of AI, the aim is to jointly develop open models, agent harnesses, and various security tools to proactively find and respond to AI vulnerabilities.
In particular, Nvidia plans to use the alliance to conduct research on open AI models and model weights, data, and new agent harnesses. It also unveiled the open-source research project "NOOA."
Founding partners include Microsoft (MS), IBM, HPE, Dell Technologies, Palantir, Salesforce, Inc., SAP, Siemens, Cloudflare, and CrowdStrike, among others.
In Korea, Naver and SK Telecom, which have expanded cooperation with Nvidia in AI, joined as founding members. In particular, Naver is said to be participating in building a global AI security ecosystem.
Nvidia emphasized, "If cutting-edge open AI systems are uniformly restricted, defensive capabilities will weaken and there is a risk that authority, dependence, and vulnerabilities will concentrate with a small number of closed providers."
