As armed clashes between the United States and Iran entered the 14th day, Iran's military said it attacked U.S. bases in Kuwait and elsewhere.
On the 24th (local time), Iran's military issued a statement saying, "As part of phase 25 of Operation 'Thunderclap,' we struck major U.S. bases located in Kuwait—Aldoha, Al Udeid, and Oreijwan—with drones."
Iran's military said it used Arash drones to strike a U.S. equipment storage facility at Al Udeid base, U.S. troop quarters at Aldoha base, and quarters at Camp Oreijwan. The Arash drone is a loitering munition that Iran's army deployed in 2020. Its maximum range is 2,000 km, and its maximum warhead weight is known to be 150 kg.
The Associated Press also reported a drone attack near Erbil Airport in Iraq's Kurdistan Region on the same day. In Bahrain, missile air raid alerts sounded twice.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, in a separate statement, said, "U.S. officers and soldiers are using ordinary buildings in cities as hideouts to continue their criminal acts," and added, "For safety, ordinary citizens in countries hosting U.S. troops should immediately evacuate from within a 500-meter radius of any location with U.S. forces."
U.S. Central Command also carried out nighttime airstrikes against Iran early that morning. U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview with Axios that Iran "has not suffered enough yet" and that he is "considering a large-scale attack."
