The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, which commands Iran's military, warned it would strike all U.S. assets across the Middle East if the United States attacks nuclear facilities.
On the 22nd (local time), the Central Headquarters said in a statement, "The United States has threatened to carry out airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities and other important facilities," adding, "If the military of that country, an aggressor and terrorist, takes such action, we will regard it as an intention to escalate conflict in the Middle East."
It added, "If that happens, all of the United States' assets, as well as the assets of its allies and backers, will become targets of resolute attacks by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
Iran has made U.S. military bases in the Middle East its main targets since armed conflict with the United States resumed earlier this month. However, this statement is interpreted to mean it will expand targets to non-military facilities, such as energy infrastructure, financial institutions, and data centers, as in the early days of the war.
U.S. President Donald Trump on the 21st mentioned "Pickaxe Mountain" in central Iran, which is believed to house underground nuclear facilities, and warned, "We will strike that area very powerfully soon."
Trump also said, "If there is any place where they are even thinking a little about nuclear matters, wherever it is, we will strike very, very powerfully."
