Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said a Cabinet shake-up will begin on the 12th (local time) "to implement a new political strategy." He said this on X (formerly Twitter), stated accordingly.
Zelensky said he "discussed details with Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko" and "agreed that a Cabinet reshuffle is necessary." Svyrydenko is also reportedly among those to be replaced.
Local outlet Ukrainska Pravda reported that those floated as possible successors for prime minister include Naftogaz state energy corporations CEO Koretsky, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, and Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
Zelensky said the priority area of foreign policy will be entrusted to a figure with extensive experience who can realize what leaders have agreed to and the expectations of the Ukrainian people. He stressed that security cooperation with the United States and others is especially important.
