A foreign media report said that a liquefied natural gas (LNG·Liquefied Natural Gas) carrier hit by missiles from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC·Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) in the Strait of Hormuz could explode due to a fire.
According to Reuters and other foreign media on the 7th (local time), a fire broke out on the Qatari-flagged LNG carrier Al Rekayat, which was hit by missiles near the Strait of Hormuz the previous night.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO·UK Maritime Trade Operations) of the British Navy said a tanker and an LNG carrier passing through the Strait of Hormuz, 15 kilometers east of Lima, Oman, were struck by projectiles and caught fire.
UKMTO did not release information about the tanker, but the vessel that was hit is presumed to be the Al Rekayat.
