Iran's state-run IRIB reported that Iran's nuclear program was not addressed at the first follow-up talks after the U.S.-Iran cease-fire agreement held on the 21st (local time).
According to IRIB, the talks were held in a four-party format with mediator countries Pakistan and Qatar participating and lasted about 80 minutes. However, substantive negotiations on Iran's nuclear issue, which had been cited as a main agenda item, did not take place.
IRIB said the first round prioritized the Lebanon issue. It said the focus was on discussing ways to implement Article 13 of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding.
It remains undecided whether the four-party talks will be held again or halted as is. After the four-party meeting, Iran's delegation reportedly entered a separate bilateral meeting with the mediator Qatar.
Meanwhile, Iran's state-run Press TV reported that the Iranian delegation lodged an official protest with the U.S. side over recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump that "if Hezbollah is not controlled, Iran can be hit harder," and is also reviewing response options.
