Iran reiterated that, regarding follow-up talks on a cease-fire agreement with the United States, measures to end the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, must be implemented first.

Esmaeil Baghaei, Spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, said on the 21st (local time) on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), "The Islamic Republic of Iran will monitor closely and seriously how the counterpart, the United States, fulfills its promises."

Spokesperson Baghaei said the meeting being held in Switzerland that day was to review the implementation of the cease-fire memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed on the 18th. Citing Article 13 of the MOU, he emphasized that full-scale negotiations for a final agreement depend on whether Articles 1, 4, 5, 10 and 11 are implemented.

In particular, he presented as a key condition the clause in Article 1 calling for "an end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon." Without adherence to this clause, he said, the talks cannot move on to the stage for a final agreement.

Spokesperson Baghaei said, "Today's discussion will focus primarily on whether those clauses are being implemented, above all the execution of Article 1."

He added that the meeting is also set to consider implementation plans for Article 10, which addresses exports of Iranian crude oil, and Article 11, related to the release of Iran's frozen asset.
