Iran's delegation for negotiations with the United States is moving to Switzerland to urge the United States to implement the memorandum of understanding (MOU).
According to Yonhap News on the 20th (local time), Spokesperson Baghaei told local media, "The negotiating delegation will depart for Switzerland soon," and "They will demand implementation of the other side's previous MOU on the ground and clarify how it will be carried out."
Baghaei warned, "If the other side fails to keep even part of its promise, the entire MOU could be jeopardized," adding, "If action is not taken as quickly as possible, the agreement itself will be at risk."
Iran in particular took issue with Israel continuing airstrikes in southern Lebanon and not withdrawing its troops, arguing that this is a serious violation of the MOU.
Spokesperson Baghaei criticized, "As much as Iran is honoring its commitments, the United States has a responsibility to compel the Zionist regime (Israel) to stop its attacks on Lebanon," adding, "However, neglecting this is a clear breach of the agreement."
