On the 14th local time, as the United States and Iran reached a de facto end-of-war agreement, U.S. Vice President JD Vance said there is a possibility that President Donald Trump will attend the signing ceremony.
In a phone interview with Fox News after the announcement of the agreement, Vice President Vance said, "I think the detailed schedule of who will attend the signing ceremony is still being worked out," adding, "I definitely plan to attend, but it is also possible the president will attend in person."
Earlier, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the mediator, said on X (formerly Twitter) that "both sides (the United States and Iran) have declared the immediate and permanent end of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon," conveying the agreement and stating that an official signing ceremony will be held in Switzerland on the 19th.
President Trump and Iran's Foreign Ministry also confirmed that the two countries had reached an agreement that includes opening the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said, "I fully approve the free and open passage of the Strait of Hormuz, and at the same time approve the immediate lifting of the U.S. Navy blockade," adding, "Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow."
