Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vice Minister, said on the 14th (local time) that "the draft memorandum of understanding (MOU) for cease-fire talks has been finalized, and the official signing ceremony is scheduled to be held in Switzerland on the 19th."
According to Iran's semi-official ISNA news agency, Vice Minister Gharibabadi said, "Starting tonight, procedures to lift the U.S. maritime blockade against Iran will begin, and the immediate and permanent end of war and military operations on several fronts, including Lebanon, will also be announced tonight."
He added, "This memorandum of understanding is not a mere product of diplomacy, but the result of the combination of the military achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the blood of martyrs, the steadfast will of the people, support for the armed forces, the actions of the supreme leader of the revolution, and the efforts of those involved."
Vice Minister Gharibabadi said the United States and Israel failed to achieve their goals, adding, "The enemy did not achieve all of its objectives, and the Islamic Republic of Iran achieved significant results in this war."
He continued, "This memorandum of understanding does not mean trusting the enemy and was drafted with the principle of distrust in mind," adding, "Iran will closely monitor the United States' fulfillment of its promises." Iran said it would release the full text of the agreement after the official signing.
Earlier, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who has mediated talks between the United States and Iran, said on the social media platform X that the United States and Iran had reached a peace agreement and that an official signing ceremony would be held in Switzerland on the 19th.
Immediately afterward, President Trump said, "The agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all," adding, "I fully approve the toll-free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and at the same time approve the immediate lifting of the U.S. Navy blockade."
