U.S. President Donald Trump directly said a deal between the United States and Iran would proceed soon.
Trump said on the 13th (local time) via his social media (SNS) Truth Social that a signing of the final agreement to officially end the war with Iran and implement denuclearization is scheduled for the 14th U.S. local time. He added, "Immediately after the signing, the Strait of Hormuz will be open to all."
Trump said the deal will not only remove Iran's military threat, but also serve as a powerful "wall to no nuclear weapon (A WALL TO NO NUCLEAR WEAPON)" that will fundamentally block every channel by which Iran could develop nuclear weapons on its own or purchase or procure them from outside in the future.
However, Trump has not yet mentioned administrative details such as the specific location or time window where the signing ceremony will take place.
Earlier, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the mediator, signaled that "a final agreement will be concluded within 24 hours and an electronic signature will be executed."
However, Esmail Baghaei, Iran Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, countered, "We need to wait a bit more to see the timing of the MOU signing," adding, "It will not be tomorrow (the 14th), but we cannot rule out the possibility that it will be signed within a few days."
He added, "We must be cautious, as the other side is not making any remarks about this process," and said, "The Islamabad memorandum of understanding currently under discussion focuses on ending the war, and at this stage we have decided not to discuss the nuclear issue."
