The British Embassy in Korea said on the 12th that Seema Malhotra, Vice Minister for the Indo-Pacific at the United Kingdom's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), visited Korea.
Vice Minister Malhotra is scheduled to stay in Korea for three days from the 11th to the 13th, meeting with Korean government officials and key figures in the business community to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in priority areas such as advanced technology, clean energy, and defense.
In addition, plans to expand cooperation in the Women and Girls sector—cited as a top priority of British foreign policy and a key driver of long-term economic growth—are also set to be discussed.
Vice Minister Malhotra said, "I am making my first visit since taking office to the Republic of Korea, one of our closest partners in Asia," and added, "Through this visit, we will further strengthen the Korea-U.K. Global Strategic Partnership."
