Princess Anne, sister of King Charles III of the United Kingdom, will visit Korea next month with her husband, Sir Tim Laurence.
The British Embassy in Korea said on the 10th that Princess Anne will visit Korea from July 13 to 15. It will be her first visit in eight years since she came to Korea for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
During the visit, Princess Anne is scheduled to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Imjin River and honor the sacrifices of British service members who fought in the Korean War.
The embassy also said she will highlight the close cooperation between the two countries across a range of fields, including maritime manufacturing, advanced technology, research, education, and people-to-people exchanges.
There are also events related to charities and social contribution activities supported by Princess Anne.
Colin Crooks, the British ambassador to Korea, said, "The British royal family and the Republic of Korea have maintained a long friendship and deep ties," and noted, "From the late Queen Elizabeth II's visit in 1999 to three subsequent state visits to the United Kingdom by Korean presidents, relations between the two countries have continued to develop."
