Iran's navy fired warning shots with missiles and drones at a U.S. destroyer, the hard-line outlet Fars reported on the 5th (local time).
The outlet said, "Immediately after warning shots from the Iranian navy's Qadir missile and the new attack drone Martid Danai, the U.S. destroyers USS Truxtun (DDG 103) and USS Mason (DDG 87), which were in the intruded zone, left the Gulf of Oman and retreated into the Indian Ocean."
It added, "Following days of operations by the Iranian navy, the amphibious assault ship Tripoli with embarked helicopters, along with destroyers of the U.S.-Zionist (Israel) forces, was also forced to retreat from the Gulf of Oman."
It continued, "Even though the enemy ships pulled back beyond the range of the missiles used in this operation and widened the distance, the Iranian navy warned that, if necessary, it would deploy longer-range strike weapons."
Iran's state broadcaster IRIB also reported, "The U.S. military's 'terror fleet' attempted to enter the Persian Gulf 48 hours ago with navigation systems turned off, but retreated after encountering the navy's resolute response," adding, "Satellite image analysis shows the U.S. fleet is currently scattered."
