Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, speaker of the Iranian parliament who leads Iran's delegation for cease-fire talks, said on the 23rd (local time), "If Trump foolishly restarts the war, the United States will face consequences far more horrific and bitter than on the first day of the war."
Iran's state-run IRNA and other outlets reported that Pakistan's army chief, Asim Munir, left Tehran after meeting Ghalibaf, Iran's speaker, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. Munir, the key figure, was instrumental in arranging the U.S.-Iran cease-fire talks held in Islamabad, Pakistan, last month.
According to the report, Ghalibaf told Munir, "We will not abandon the rights of the nation and the people, and we will never compromise, especially with a counterpart that is dishonest and untrustworthy."
Ghalibaf added, "The Iranian military understands the value of peace better than anyone," and "We will never tolerate the dignity and rights of the homeland being trampled."
