Iran has opened an X account for the "Persian Gulf Strait Authority" (PGSA).
According to the Associated Press and other foreign media on the 18th, the Iranian government opened a Persian Gulf Strait Authority account on the social media (SNS) platform X under the name "PGSA" that day, saying, "In the name of God, the official X account of the Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) now operates."
It also posted, "Follow to get real-time updates on transit through the Strait of Hormuz and the latest developments." In particular, in the account bio, Iran described it in English and Persian as the "official account of the Persian Gulf Strait Authority."
The Associated Press said, "It is not clear whether it is an official account, but the Iranian government has sought to formalize control over the Strait of Hormuz," adding, "The X accounts of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy followed this account and retweeted its posts."
The Iranian side has consistently demanded that the United States recognize its "sovereign rights" over the Strait of Hormuz as a condition for ending the conflict. The Iranian Foreign Ministry also announced earlier that it was "in working-level consultations with the government of Oman to establish an operational plan for the Strait of Hormuz."
