U.S. President Donald Trump said that while visiting China, he and President Xi Jinping exchange views on North Korea.
According to Reuters on the 15th (local time), Trump told reporters after boarding his presidential aircraft to return home.
Trump also said that during the U.S.-China summit, regarding the Taiwan issue, "I had many conversations with President Xi," adding, "I do not think there is a dispute (with China)." He went on to say that regarding Taiwan, "I did not make any promises."
Trump said Xi asked whether the United States would defend Taiwan if China attacked it. He added, "I was asked that question today," explaining, "I answered, 'I will not talk about that issue.'"
Trump said he would decide within a few days whether to lift sanctions on Chinese oil companies in connection with imports of Iranian crude. The United States has imposed sanctions since last month on refineries that imported Iranian crude, and Hengli Petrochemical, one of China's largest refineries, was included.
