A senior Iranian security source on the 29th (local time) told Iran's state-run Press TV that it defines the U.S. maritime blockade as acts of piracy and robbery, and said unprecedented military measures would follow in response.
The source claimed that, so far, the Iranian military's restraint was intended to provide an opportunity for a diplomatic resolution and to give U.S. President Donald Trump a chance to get out of the current quagmire.
The source also emphasized that Iran is no longer passive due to the recently forced war and is not an opponent the United States can predict.
The source said, "The Iranian military has now reached the limit of its patience regarding the maritime blockade," and added, "If the United States rejects Iran's terms and maintains the illegal maritime blockade around the Strait of Hormuz, it will face a response on a dimension entirely different from before."
The source added, "With decades of experience circumventing sanctions and thousands of kilometers of land borders, Iran has far stronger resilience to economic pressure than the United States."
