Reuters reported that a U.S. government delegation arrived in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, on the 11th (local time) for negotiations with Iran.
Reuters, citing Pakistani sources, said a plane carrying senior U.S. government officials landed in Islamabad. Reuters added that it was confirmed the U.S. negotiating team led by Vice President J.D. Vance includes U.S. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump's eldest son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
Earlier, the Iranian delegation, including Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, arrived in Islamabad the previous night on a Meraj Air passenger flight operated by an Iranian civilian airline.
The two delegations are expected to begin talks soon under the mediation of the Pakistani government. The meeting venue was reported to be the Serena Hotel in Islamabad. The two sides agreed on the 7th, through Pakistan's mediation, to a two-week cease-fire.
