U.S. President Donald Trump said on the 3rd (local time) that "with a little more time, we can easily open the Strait of Hormuz, take the oil, and make big money."
Trump wrote this on Truth Social the same day and said, "It will be a 'gusher' of tremendous oil pouring out for the world."
However, Trump did not explain how the Strait of Hormuz would be opened or what taking the oil means, suggesting the message was intended to signal that opening the Strait of Hormuz is not far off.
On the 1st, in a national address, Trump said, "When the conflict ends, the Strait of Hormuz will naturally open," adding, "When oil supplies resume, oil prices will plunge and stock prices will surge."
On the 2nd, after Trump threatened to "turn Iran back to the Stone Age," the United States launched high-intensity strikes on Iran's key infrastructure.
