U.S. President Donald Trump said the timing for ending the war with Iran would be "very soon."
On the 31st (local time), at a White House executive order signing ceremony, President Trump, asked by a reporter about ways to lower gasoline prices in the United States, said, "All I have to do is leave Iran," adding, "We will leave very soon, and oil prices will plunge."
He cited the reasons that the Iranian regime has been replaced and that the war goal of preventing Iran from possessing nuclear weapons has been achieved.
President Trump projected a specific withdrawal timeline of two to three weeks.
Earlier, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that President Trump had put on the table an option to end the war while the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked.
