U.S. President Donald Trump took aim at countries that did not join the attack on Iran, sneering, "Buy oil from the United States or go get it yourselves."
Trump wrote on his social network Truth Social on the 31st (local time), "For countries that cannot secure jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz, and for countries like the United Kingdom that refused to join the operation to remove Iran's leadership, I have a suggestion," adding the following.
Trump added, "First, buy from the United States. We have plenty (of resources). Second, even if it's late, muster some courage, go to the strait, and just take (the oil). It's time you learned to fight for yourselves."
He went on to write, "Just as you did not help the United States, the United States will no longer help (you)."
Trump also said, "Iran has been virtually obliterated," adding, "Go and get your oil yourselves."
That day, Trump also specifically targeted France on Truth Social.
He wrote, "France prevented planes carrying military supplies bound for Israel from passing through its airspace," adding, "France was very uncooperative regarding the removal of 'the butcher of Iran.' The United States will remember this."
