A building in the Dubai International Financial Centre in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where Woori Bank, Shinhan Bank and other Korean financial firms have offices, was reportedly struck.
According to AP and AFP on the 13th morning (local time), debris from a projectile suspected to be a drone hit the Dubai International Financial Centre, damaging the building's exterior wall. Reports said Iran attacked the Dubai International Financial Centre, and the UAE sustained damage while intercepting a drone or projectile.
No casualties have been confirmed so far. AFP said that "a massive cloud of smoke was seen" after the strike.
The Dubai International Financial Centre refers to a free zone not subject to financial regulation. Nearby are clustered the Dubai branches of Korean financial companies, including Woori Bank, Shinhan Bank and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance. The building hit that day reportedly does not house any Korean financial institutions.
