A seventh U.S. service member has died in the course of Iran's counterattacks to U.S. and Israeli airstrikes.
On the 8th (local time), the U.S. Central Command said on its official X account (formerly Twitter), "One U.S. service member who was wounded during Iran's initial counterattacks died on the 7th."
The soldier was seriously wounded on the 1st when Iran carried out an attack targeting U.S. forces stationed in Saudi Arabia, the U.S. Central Command said.
Earlier, on the 3rd, the U.S. Central Command said six U.S. service members were killed by Iran's retaliatory attack on the southern Kuwaiti port city of Shuaiba. Their remains were returned on the 7th to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, with U.S. President Donald Trump attending the repatriation ceremony.
