U.S. President Donald Trump on the 7th (local time) warned that Iran would face far stronger attacks.
Trump said on the social media platform Truth Social that "today Iran will be hit very hard," adding, "Because of Iran's bad behavior, areas and groups that had not been considered targets until now are now under serious review for complete destruction and certain death."
Trump said, "Iran, which is being beaten like hell, apologized and surrendered to its Middle East neighbors, promising not to attack them anymore," and claimed, "This promise came because of the relentless attacks by the United States and Israel."
Earlier, Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian said in a state TV address that he apologized to the Gulf countries that suffered damage from his country's attacks and that he would halt attacks on neighboring Middle Eastern countries as long as they did not attack his country.
On this, Trump added, "They (Iran) tried to seize and dominate the Middle East," and "this is the first time in thousands of years of history that Iran has been defeated by neighboring Middle Eastern countries."
He said, "Iran is no longer the 'bully of the Middle East,' and instead has become the 'loser of the Middle East,'" adding, "They will remain that way for decades, until they surrender or, more likely, reach complete collapse."
