Israel, which is attacking Iran together with the United States, is expected to continue airstrikes against Iran for at least another one to two weeks, the Times of Israel reported on the 5th. The outlet said the Israel Defense Forces are considering additionally striking thousands of targets tied to the Iranian regime and military.
In a briefing the day before, the Israel Defense Forces said it deployed more than 100 fighter jets targeting a large military complex in eastern Tehran recently and dropped more than 250 bombs. According to the Israel Defense Forces, the targets included the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the Quds Force, intelligence organizations, the Basij militia, cyber units, and special security forces.
The Israel Defense Forces have described the goal of this operation as the systematic weakening of the Iranian regime and military infrastructure. Accordingly, not only Iran's military command facilities but also ballistic missile launch sites, drone-related facilities, and air defense networks are said to be included in the airstrike targets.
Israel defense Minister Katz spoke by phone the day before with U.S. defense Minister Pete Hegseth and expressed appreciation for bilateral coordination. In response, Minister Hegseth said, "Go all the way. We are with you," Reuters reported.
