A report said U.S. President Donald Trump left room for negotiations, saying he "could stop (the attack) in two to three days."
On Feb. 28, in a phone interview with the U.S. online outlet Axios, President Trump said that it could "perhaps take years" for Iran to recover from the joint attack carried out by U.S. and Israeli forces, and stated accordingly.
Trump also said regarding the U.S. military's attack on Iran that it "could turn into a long war and we could take control of the whole (of Iran)."
Trump added that the operation against Iran, code-named "Great Fury," secured several "off ramps."
Trump said, "The Iranians came close (to a deal) and then backed away, came close and backed away again," adding, "I saw that and understood that they really don't want a deal."
